Odds are your wedding gown will be strapless. Problem is, most women typically don’t wear strapless clothing, so feeling comfortable can be tricky. Follow these tips to feel comfortable, and look great in your strapless wedding gown.
4 Tips To Look Great In Your Strapless Wedding Gown
1) Practice moving in your wedding gown. During your fittings don’t just stand there like a statue, move around. Walk around. Reach up like you’re tossing your bouquet. Stretch your arms forward as if you’re cutting your cake. Sit down. Hug someone. Is your dress staying where it belongs, or are any potential “wardrobe malfunctions” on the horizon?
2) Wear the same undergarments to all of your fittings that you will be wearing on your wedding day. Also, wear the same shoes. This ensures that your gown will fit you exactly the same way on your wedding day as it did at all of your fittings, and that you don’t end up with any unexpected gaps, or something fitting too tight.
3) Don’t tug! I know it’s tempting to feel the need make that little adjustment, particularly if you’re not used to wearing strapless garments, and the one you’re currently wearing feels like it weighs a ton, (and depending on how simple or detailed your strapless gown is it can easily weigh anywhere between 10 – 60 lbs!). But do you really want to be seen tugging up the top of your bodice all night? If your dress was altered correctly, it’s going to stay in place instead of sliding “south.”
4) Stand up straight! Head up, shoulders back, look fabulous! Practice good posture. You’re wearing an absolutely gorgeous gown, and you’ve spent time and money on a fabulous ‘do and professional make-up. Don’t mess up the look by slouching.
