When you get engaged, it’s natural for your brain to become fixated on your wedding day. As a bride or a groom, you want to look your best, and it’s important to think carefully about what you’re going to wear so you pick the right wedding dress and suit. Who doesn’t want to look and feel amazing on their wedding day?
If you’re counting down the days until you walk down the aisle, here are some tips to ensure you look perfect.
Tips For The Bride-To-Be
Most brides have some idea of what they want to look like on their wedding day. The trouble is that the vision you have in your head isn’t always the best option in real life.
It’s very common for brides to try gowns on that look perfect on a hanger and then find that once they have the dress on, it doesn’t suit them or live up to expectations.
If you’re looking for your dream dress, try and be open-minded, and don’t obsess about a dress that you’ve imagined or sketched out.
Instead:
• Try on a range of styles and shapes
• Look at different materials
• Look for a dress that gives you confidence and makes you feel incredible
When you’re looking at gowns, it’s wise to bear factors like the location, the theme of your wedding, and your budget in mind. If you’re getting married in the height of the summer or you’re tying the knot on the beach, for example, you may wish to avoid heavy lace or beading.
When you’re shopping, enjoy the process, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you don’t find a dress on the first outing, don’t panic. Stay calm, and be positive.
Guidance For The Groom
It’s not just brides that want to look the part on their wedding day. If you’re a groom preparing for the big day, consider your options, and think about the theme of the wedding. Are you hosting a lavish, formal affair or are you opting for something rustic with old-school charm?
If you’re going all-out and looking at formal suits and tuxedos, try on different styles, add accessories like shoes and cufflinks, and look at sites like Comfy Clothiers to find shirt stays.
If you’re going for a low-key vibe, you may want to go more casual by skipping a tie and pocket square, opting for less rigid materials, and don’t forget to inject a bit of character. You could wear patterned socks or a pocket watch on your waistcoat, for example.
Go for a style that suits your wedding day, and celebrates your tastes. Don’t be afraid to mix and match trends if you want a traditional vibe with a modern twist. You can put your own spin on tried and tested looks to make your outfit stand out.
Every couple wants to look their best on their wedding day. Whether you’re floating down the aisle in an ethereal gown or you’re suited and booted, it’s essential that you pick the right wedding dress and suit to feel confident in your wedding outfit.
If you’re on the lookout for the ideal ensemble, embrace your sense of style, match your attire to the vibe of the wedding, and don’t be afraid to choose something that is a little different to what you see in magazines and movies.

Great tips, as usual… I do have one suggestion on choosing your perfect look. Get a good look at yourself LONG RANGE. Across the room view. Almost no one does that, and wow, is it a good idea. Your hair style may not be working for you at all, or your clothing is way wrong — and you only see it from a bit of distance. Photos work nicely that way, too, taken by a friend.
Hi Dennis, Love this tip! Taking the time to look at something from a different point of view (especially a wedding dress) is a great idea. Thanks for sharing! Jean
Nice post! my friend recently got married and she bought her wedding dress from FARAH NAZ New York, where one can find a wide range of bridal and formal wears. She was so satisfied and the dress was worth every penny. Highly recommended!
Thank you.
