What they’re going to wear, of course!

For Her

How about a white wedding gown with blue accents?

Or for something more daring, walk down the aisle in a wedding gown that is entirely blue.

If your taste leans more toward a traditional bouquet, accent a white bouquet with a few blue blooms.

If your wedding party will be in blue, bouquets with lighter colored blooms will look fabulous and really pop against the blue fabric.

Color Tip: When talking with your wedding pros, don’t rely on color name only. One person’s idea of Indigo for example will be way different than the next person’s. Bring color swatches, photos, paint chips, whatever it takes to show them the color you are actually thinking of.

Top Wedding Trends (Then and Now)

It’s fun to go back and see what wedding trends were popular a few years ago compared to what is “in” now.

You know what? For the most part, what was trending in 2013 is still popular with couples getting married and planning their own weddings.

Fun Wedding Trends

Trends that are still going strong are:

      • Vintage themes and décor
      • Blue color palettes
      • Variations on wedding desserts

All three remain popular choices today.

Check out our video from 2013.

Yes, these tips and trends are still relevant in 2016 (and 2017!)

2015 Wedding Trend Predictions

Wondering what we’re going to be seeing this wedding season?

Here are my predictions:

  1. Wedding cakes that make a statement through grand size and/or design. Guests will be looking at your cake so make it a focal point that really says “Wow!”
  2. Beautiful deep, rich blues – Navy, Indigo, Midnight. They’ll be paired with metallics (gold and silver) and neutrals (grey and ivory).
  3. We’ll also be seeing a lot of neutrals – whites, ivories, champagne, blush. Very elegant and sophisticated.
  4. Unique processional music – “Canon in D” and “Bridal Chorus” are still popular traditional choices, but brides are choosing more modern song selections like “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, and “All of Me” by John Legend for their walk down the aisle.
  5. Wedding gowns will have all-over lace. Retro-ish without feeling like it’s from another era, these dresses will be romantic and classic.
  6. Signature drinks will still be popular. A fun to way easily add some personalization to your wedding reception, and more economical than an open bar with several types mixed drinks.
