There are so many ideas for extra touches for your wedding out there on the internet and in the world to make your wedding unique and beautiful without much effort. The whole idea of a wedding – aside from, you know, pledging your life and heart to someone – is to give your guests an excellent party. You want your wedding to be memorable for them as much as for yourself, as it’s something that becomes the stuff of family legend and gets talked about for years.
It’s all about the little wedding extra touches, and with the suggestions below, you can make your wedding more memorable than you ever imagined it could be.
1) Beer Barrow
When you host an outdoor wedding on a hot, summer day, you need to cool off. A beer barrow is exactly as it’s described: a wheelbarrow filled to the brim with ice and bottles of beer for the reception. Your guests can help themselves and it gives the reception a rustic look.
2) Quirky Tableware
It’s not just the flowers and the table games that are memorable; but as the bride and groom why not have something different than the rest of the guests? Going for personalized plates or wedding wine glasses just for you two will set your table space apart from the rest.
It’s something for your photographer to pick up on for sure!
3) Food Stations
Back to the outdoor theme, instead of a formal dinner with courses and fidgeting children, why not have open food stations? Pizzas, pasta dishes, salad stations – it’s all going to work well as your guests get a selection of food choices and you get a cheaper bill.
4) Emergency Supplies
When guests head to a wedding, they can often forget some supplies such as sunscreen, band-aids, and hand sanitizer. Leave baskets in the bathrooms filled with these and other items like breath mints, stain remover wipes, lint roller, and bobby pins and feminine products for the ladies, and let your guests help themselves to what they need. The little touches are what counts.
5) “Normal” Canapes
So many people turn their noses up at fancy canapes, such as blinis and prawn mousse swirls. Instead, don’t let guests get overwhelmed with unfamiliar food offerings, and think about miniature versions of everyone’s favorites, such as trays with grilled cheese fingers and tomato dips. Go normal, and you’ll appeal to the masses!
6) Polaroid Party
A wedding guestbook is a normal part of a wedding day, and is something for you to one day look back on with a smile. Why not have fun and go a little quirky? Put up a couple of cheap washing lines with craft clothes pins attached. Leave a Polaroid camera to the side and encourage people to take a selfie. Have some sharpies so they can leave a message on the photo!
7) Confetti
Rice hurts the stomachs of birds and balloon releases are bad for the environment. Ok, there is some debate as to whether this is true or not, but why chance it? Why not try out these confetti bombs instead? They’re pretty, eco-friendly and biodegradable, come in a variety of colors, and can make your grand exit one to be remembered.
