With all of the wedding details you’re dealing with when planning your wedding, it’s easy to forget some of the minor details. You’ve checked off all of the major things from your list, from booking your venue to selecting out your outfit, but there are some wedding details not to miss.

To ensure you don’t let the smaller things fall through the cracks, there are some planning tips you can’t forget as they are imperative to the success of your day!

Don’t forget these wedding details:

1) Don’t Forget Your Wedding Ring

You won’t forget to buy a ring, of course, but you may forget certain details during the ring buying process. You need to remember your budget, as you don’t want to spend all of your cash on something too extravagant. You need to remember practicality. Something like these infinity silicone rings may be better for your lifestyle. And you need to remember to get the ring fitted at a time when your fingers are at their regular size – temperatures, exercise, and the humidity can cause your fingers to swell.
Something as small as a ring takes a lot more thought than you perhaps realized!

2) Don’t Forget The Weather

You can’t control the weather, but you can have a contingency plan if things take a turn for the worse. This means having a tent or indoor venue should the rain start to fall. This means having a place for guests to cool down should the temperatures rocket. And this means having items at hand to accommodate your guests, from pocket fans to mini-umbrellas (or tell them to bring their own). By having a plan B, your guests won’t overheat, and your wedding won’t be a washout, no matter what the weather throws at you!

3) Don’t Forget The Wedding Registry

Don’t want endless supplies of towels? Want to avoid more cutlery than you know what to do with? Want to stop your guests giving you their lovingly crafted (appreciated, but unwanted) handmade items? Then you need to organize your wedding registry ahead of time. To ensure you get exactly what you want, list all the items that mean something to you, and get it out to your guests early. Remember those guests on a budget too, and have a variety of price points on your registry.

4) Don’t Forget Food Allergies

Food is a major part of the wedding, but you need to cater for all tastes. If you have vegetarians attending, for example, you need to have alternative options. However, you also need to pay special attention to food allergies. You don’t want any guests to become ill, after all, so send word out to those you invite and ask them to let you know about any food allergies they may suffer from. It can be as easy as adding “Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies” to your RSVP card. Then let your caterer know, including the seat numbers your food intolerant guests are sitting in.

5) Don’t Forget The Kids

Having little ones running around on your wedding day can add to the joy of the day. It can also be tantamount to disaster! Running between your legs while you’re saying your wedding vows, stealing food from the buffet table, yawning and throwing tantrums while the speeches are being held… kids are great until they’re not!

And what leads to kids causing problems? When they get bored and have nothing to do. So give them something to do. Provide kid-friendly games and activities. Have somebody on hand to watch them. Have some entertainment for them, maybe a balloon twister? Have a room where they can play.

You have a million and one things to remember while you’re planning your wedding, and it can become a full-time job trying to get everything sorted. Still, to ensure your wedding is a success, follow our advice, and give yourself plenty of time to have everything in place before the big day arrives.
