5 Ways to Help You Remember Your Wedding Day

Of course you’re going to want to remember your wedding day- and the days leading up to it. We want these memories not just for ourselves, but to share with others. We want to be able to show our kids and grandkids how much fun and happy everyone was when we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.

Here are some creative ways of keeping your memories alive and remembering the happiness every day of your life.

1) Get the Right Photographer

The first thing you need to do is make sure that you choose the right photographer, and the right photography package. In today’s day and age, you should be able to receive the digital version of the photos, so you can later create personalized gifts, canvas prints, or a wall montage. 2) Create a Video Diary

A fun idea is to create a video wedding diary. You’re sure to have clips of your walk down the aisle, vows, first dance, and cutting the cake, but don’t forget those “behind the scenes” moments – enjoying mimosas with your ladies while getting ready, the groom hanging with his guys, reading sweet love notes from each other before the ceremony.

Why not include footage from the planning process too? This will allow you to relive how you choose your venue, picked your cake, and engaged with the rest of the family during the planning all the way up to your wedding day. You can hire a professional wedding videographer to document every step of the way, or make sure you have someone to take some video and photos during this time.

3) Make a Documentary Film

Why not take it one step further and turn these home videos and photos of your wedding day into a professional film? Script it out, add narration and music. You’ll have it to watch whenever you like, and can even entertain your guests on your 30 year wedding anniversary. You might need some professional assistance, but the investment will be worth it.

Whenever you are going through a rough patch, or want to reminisce about the fun and joy of the planning and the big day itself, you can look back and re-experience all the love.

4) Create a Time Capsule

Another good idea to help remember your wedding day is to create a time capsule. Collect special notes, your wedding invitation, and other trinkets and keepsakes. Write down your initial plans of what you want from your wedding day. When you open the time capsule, you may look back and laugh, seeing how different your wedding day was from what you originally wanted, or see how it turned out exactly how you thought it would be.

5) Preserve or Press Your Wedding Flowers

Keeping your wedding flowers is a special and personal touch. You can dry or press them yourself so you can put them in a frame in your bedroom. You can also create a special montage of your rose petals, your invitations, your table decoration, and other memorabilia from the wedding to display in your home. You can also have your bouquet professionally preserved and have a replica of your bouquet in a pretty shadowbox to display in your home.
