6 Creative Fall Wedding Decor Ideas

When couples think of planning their fall wedding, often their first thoughts are to use pumpkins, and go with a color scheme of orange and brown for their fall wedding decor.

You don’t have to settle for this typical fall style. Instead, think out of the box, and embrace the season, with these fun ideas (which I had the pleasure of sharing these ideas on Fox 45 in the Morning in Dayton).

1) Fall gives us an abundant array of colors. Yes, we see a lot of browns and oranges, but we also see deep purples, reds, and golds.

2) We start seeing more textures and richer colors in the fall. We start wearing clothing in heavier fabrics and deeper, muted colors. Have fun with your table linens and napkins by incorporating texture such as these gorgeous crinkle taffeta or pintuck taffeta linens from Prime Time Party Rental. (I LOVE the crinkle!)

3) Fill a simple vase with acorns and use as centerpieces for your guests’ tables, or smaller vases for the smaller cocktail hour bistro tables. For a little extra punch, mix in some acorns that you have painted in colors that coordinate with your wedding.

4) Leaves are a quintessential icon of Fall, and make a great, and inexpensive, alternative to flower petals. You can scatter them on tables and have them in your flower girl’s to drop as she’s walking down the aisle. They won’t cost a thing if you collect fallen leaves from your yard, but faux leaves have a very minimal cost from places like Amazon or Oriental Trading.

5) Decorate with gourds and mini pumpkins. (You can also use bowls of seasonal fruit, such as apples, pears, grapes as centerpieces).

6) Add simple touches to your fall wedding decor that are stunning, and give an extra “wow” factor, such as:

7) Fall flowers come in such amazing colors and textures. Divine Flowers and Gifts created this beautiful centerpiece of chrysanthemums and roses. Give your centerpieces a little more drama by skipping the typical clear glass vase and go with a pretty copper tin instead.
