5 Easy Ways a Busy Bride Can Take Some Time for Herself

Planning a wedding seems to be a job in itself. It can be hard for a busy bride to take some time for herself. We have huge amounts of sympathy for anyone trying to organize the perfect day alongside a full-time job. As the big day approaches, it’s not uncommon for brides to burn the candle at both ends. Coming home from the tiring 9-5 and delving straight into wedding duties while worrying about intricate details like whether your plus size shapewear bodysuit is being shipped on time is tiresome for anybody.

So, we’re here to remind all busy brides to take a step back and remember to take some time for themselves. We’re going to talk you through some top tips we’ve accumulated over the years to help busy brides take the best care of themselves during a stressful, albeit exciting, time.

Take 1-2 days off from wedding planning

Give yourself and your soon-to-be husband a break at least one day a week to allow your brains to recharge. This means no wedding-related phone calls, emails, or texts. And no checking Instagram and Pinterest for wedding inspiration, either – time off really does mean time off!

Do something you used to both enjoy before the wedding planning ever started, and remind yourselves of the real reason you’re getting married in the first place. A fun date night or even just relaxing with a Netflix series you haven’t had time for among the wedding planning – the choice is yours!

Pamper yourself

Brides-to-be are often so obsessed with taking care of everyone else, (these two family members are at war, they can’t possibly sit together. This person is allergic to everything, what will we feed them? The list goes on….) that they forget to take care of themselves.

Stress isn’t good for the mind, body, or soul. It can also bring on rashes and pimples, which is the last thing you want in the lead-up to your day. You don’t have to go to an expensive, luxury spa every week to pamper yourself. Something as simple as a relaxing bath with a scented bath bomb and your favorite music, or a cleansing and exfoliating face mask once a week is all it takes to leave you feeling revitalized, energized, and best of all, relaxed.

Delegate those wedding duties

This may be easier said than done for the control freaks among us (we’re definitely guilty of this!) but delegating a few tasks to some trusted helpers will make a world of a difference. Let the bridesmaids earn their special roles and have them send a few emails and make a few phone calls on your behalf.

Anything you have decided to make yourself for the wedding can also be passed along to bridesmaids or other trusted friends or family members.

Eat well

If you’re following a fad diet to lose some extra weight before the big day, you may be depriving your body of vital nutrients. This can have the opposite effect, leaving you extra fatigued and possibly even gaining weight.

It’s important to correctly fuel your body in the lead up to the wedding, so make sure you eat right, hydrate with plenty of water, and even take some additional natural supplements if needed to give you an extra energy boost.

Exercise

Exercise is good for the mind as well as the body, so don’t forget to schedule in some gym time among your wedding planning. Not only will exercising help you in your weight loss and fitness journey, but exercise is known to help combat stress, too.

Release those endorphins by going to an exercise class once a week, or run the stress away on the treadmill. Do something you enjoy so you can have some fun at the same time. A spin or Pilates class with your girlfriends is a great idea to spend some quality time with them, take your mind off wedding planning, get some exercise, and de-stress all in one!

By keeping these self-care pointers in mind, you will be well on your way to taking the best care of yourself during such a busy and stressful time in your life.
