Your wedding is one of the most special days of your life, so holding onto the memories is so important. Sadly, our memories fade with time, so here are four ways you can help preserve your wedding memories and keep your special day with you forever.

4 Ways to Preserve Your Wedding Memories

1. Wedding Photos
Your photos are such an important part of your wedding. The reason you spent such a large part of your overall budget and did so much research on wedding photography is so you could remember the details of your big day and have something tangible to look back on. Chances are your wedding day felt like a beautiful blur when you were experiencing it, so being able to look back on the pictures allows you to re-live it with much more clarity.

You probably have hundreds, maybe even thousands of photos from your wedding so it’s worth doing something with them so you can relive those wedding memories! Create a wedding album with your favorites, and hang the best of the best on the walls of your home in frames. You could create scrapbooks of the sweet or funniest moments, or have the silly ones of the day printed onto mugs, cushions or other gift type items. Use wedding photos for the screensavers and wallpaper on your computer and phone.

2. Bridal Bouquet
There are lots of different ways you can have a bridal bouquet preserved. From having the flowers dried and pressed, to having them set into resin you can have paperweights made out of the individual flowers, bookends or decorative items. They will last forever when preserved in this way and you have the added benefit of having it made into items that are useful or look pretty in your home.

3. Wedding Dress
Your wedding dress is possibly the most expensive dress you will ever purchase, so it makes sense to do something with it after the wedding. Maybe you want to preserve it so it could possibly be worn by your own daughter on her wedding day? If so, make sure to take it to a specialist. The right care will stop it from discoloring or degrading, and in twenty or more years time you can take it out the box and it will be as good as the day you wore it.

Another option would be to have it framed, this can make a beautiful dĂ©cor piece for the home as well as a memento – again, you will want to have it properly done by a company who specializes in this. A great option for those who aren’t sure what to do with their dress but want to keep a memento of it would be to have a memory bear made out of it. Lots of talented seamstresses on Etsy offer this, you could have multiple bears made out of the fabric and keep one yourself and give others to those who would like to keep one. This could include your parents and your children.

4. Create a Memory Shadow Box
A memory shadow box is a fun idea to showcase smaller items from your wedding day and is an easy way to preserve your wedding memories. Include mementos like your wedding invitation, a few blooms from your bouquet or centerpieces, the cork from a bottle of champagne served at your reception, your garter, a snippet of fabric from your dress (get a swatch from the bridal salon when your order your dress if you want to keep it intact), a pretty printed copy of your wedding vows. The ideas are endless.
