The introduction of the bride and groom at the beginning of the reception- it’s something that is done at nearly every wedding reception. But usually the way it is done is technically incorrect. Sorry, but I cringe every time it happens, so I beg you, please, please stop.
What is this ‘technically incorrect’ way?
It’s the introduction of the bride and groom that includes the words “for the first time.”
Sorry, but this is NOT the first time they’ve been introduced as Mr. and Mrs.
The first time took place at the conclusion of their wedding ceremony. After their officiant pronounces them Husband and Wife, and they kiss, The officiant will introduce them – for the first time.
So please – introduce them, but remember, you are not introducing them for the first time.
(Ok, I’ll climb down off of my soapbox now).
Hearts, Joy, Love!
