Wedding Q & A – What Does “M______________” Mean?

M____________ on the RSVP card

Q. What is the M____________? What does M____________ on the RSVP card mean?

A. The M____________ on the RSVP card is where the guest will write his or her title (Mr., Mrs., Ms., Miss) and then their name(s) on the line.

These days, many couples are often omitting the “M” and putting the word “Name” in front of the line instead, or just having a blank line.

Sometimes, in their excitement, a guest will forget to write in their name. Oops. Now how do you know who sent that RSVP card back?

This is easy. Simply number your guest list (by address, not by individual names). Then put the corresponding number on a back corner of the RSVP card. Doing that in pencil is fine. Now if someone forgets to write the names, you’ll still know who it is.
