Want An Extra Special Wedding Day? Understand The Details.

Without a doubt your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life. You’ll have planned this day for a long time (perhaps as long as you can remember). It’s all of the wedding details that will that will ensure that your wedding day is as perfect as possible.

The level of planning that goes into something like this will definitely drive you nuts, but dealing with all these wedding details will be worth it in the end.

One of the top wedding details is to make a checklist. Think about what is most important to you and what you’d most like to be included, as well as items that would be nice but not necessary. From floral arrangements and wedding cake, to wedding keepsakes and accessories (and don’t forget that marriage license), there will be quite a few items on this checklist.

Also, it is important to remember that it isn’t only you who is having the wedding. Your partner needs to have just as much of a say as you do in the planning process, so be sure to get his/her input when making the checklist.

The items on your checklist will pretty much fall into two categories the “Big Details” and the “Finer Details.”

The Big Details

The “Big Details” are the things that you absolutely want to have included on your wedding day.

One of the biggest of the “Big” Wedding Details is your wedding dress or whatever type of attire you choose (you have to wear something!) . Your wedding dress has to be just right so you feel good on the day.

With so many shapes and styles of wedding dresses available that it can be hard to know which one is going to suit you. Give yourself plenty of time to go and try on different styles until you find the most perfect one for you. Be open to trying on styles that you weren’t even considering. Many brides have found “the one” and were surprised that the style was something that they never imagined wearing.

Popular wedding dress styles include dresses with a slimline shape (such as a trumpet or mermaid style), those with a long flowing tail, and dresses featuring see-through lace and sheer panels on the bodice and skirt. So many glamorous styles!

But some people also prefer the silhouettes and styles of a traditional wedding dress.

Another of the very important “Big” Wedding Details is your venue (you’ve got to have a place for your ceremony and celebration). This is a decision to discuss with your partner and keep him/her in mind. You might want a traditional church wedding, he might want it outdoors. You might want a plated meal, she may prefer a buffet. You both will need to compromise, but in the end you will have the wedding day that you both want.

The Finer Details

They say it’s the little things that count. It’s the finer wedding details, such as your wedding cake, bouquets, and photography, that count. But as you can see, the finer details aren’t necessarily little things.

One of the main “Finer Details” is making sure you capture your special day so the memories last a lifetime. Capturing your wedding day through pictures and video is essential. Once your wedding day is done, other than your memories, (and your new wife/husband), what you will still have are your photographs and wedding video.

Make sure you get a photographer and videographer who are experienced in capturing weddings. There are no do-overs on your wedding day, so you want to make sure their quality, abilities, and experience is top notch.

If need be, you can get your wedding video copied onto DVD’s by companies such as Nationwide Disc so that everyone who attended can also share the experience with you. (Make sure you have permission to make copies so there is no copyright infringement).

A couple more “Finer” Wedding Details are your reception seating arrangement and food.

Let’s face it, there’s going to be some people who really shouldn’t be sitting next to each other. And then there are others who will really enjoy each others company. Be mindful of what is going to make other people happy as well as you.

You also need to be aware of any guests who might have food allergies and make sure your caterer will provide a separate meal choice for them.

Of course, there are plenty of other details that need to be handled. They can easily fall into place by following the checklist that you made.

Yes, there are many things to think of and arrange, but your actual wedding day will be over so fast you’ll be sad that you only have the memories to look back on. Pay attention to the details, particularly those that are most important to you and your partner, and your memories will be even better!
