Weddings. They are one of the toughest things to organize. You have your guest list to prepare, the all important wedding dress to find, and lets not forget the hassle of finding the right venue and thinking about a theme to personalize your wedding day.
More and more people are wanting to add their own personal touches to their wedding day. So if you’re wanting to add your own little details here are five to consider.
1) Doing Your Own Invitations
Maybe you like the idea of designing and creating your own wedding invitations. If you’re crafty and enjoy doing things like this, it really adds a personal touch to the day right from the start, as invitations are the first contact people will have with your wedding.
This can also be a great way to save money and gets you more involved in the creation of your wedding day.
2) Creating Your Own Decorations and Table Place Settings
Perhaps you’re excited about designing the place settings and table centerpieces. This could mean supplying the basics such as things like a restaurant quality tablecloth, chair covers and bows, and also the place settings themselves (napkins, name cards, and other little details).
Finally centerpieces, from low floral arrangements, to a few blooms in a cluster of bud vases, or something tall and majestic. Many people choose to create their own and you can get a lot of great ideas online.
3) Going Completely DIY
Maybe you want to go completely DIY. This could mean from as simple as just the table decorations to special signage, pretty lighted backdrops behind the cake table or head table, colorful bunting, as well as your flower arrangements. This is a great way to add your personal touch to every detail.
4) Be Creative With Your Favors
Wedding favors can be tricky. You want something that your guests will want (and actually take home and use), something that’s a little different (who wants to give the same favors that they’ve already gotten at another wedding?), yet affordable.
Searching online on websites like Pinterest is a great way to come up with some unique ideas. Winter weddings could mean a hot chocolate mix in a jar, or miniature bottles of spirits. For Summer, how about personalized mini potted plants. Or a fan to beat the heat of an outdoor wedding?
5) Think Outside Of The Box
Finally, if you want to add personal touches then don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. It could mean asking a friend or family member to sing or entertain on the day. You could ask your guests to snap pictures or take video footage. Try and think of ways your friends and family can be involved in your day. You and they will appreciate it even more.
I hope that this has given you some inspiration on how you can add some personal touches to your wedding day.
