Who wouldn’t want to arrive to their wedding in style? Even if no-one sees you arrive (chances are most people will already be waiting in the venue), having a special form of wedding day transportation can help to build your excitement.

Here are just a few different wedding transport options to consider.

1. Classic And Classy

The most classic option is to hire a horse and carriage. This is certain to make you feel like royalty. How about a Cinderella-style carriage for a touch of fantasy?

Of course, this is also one of the most expensive options, and only suitable for short local journeys (most horse and carriages aren’t able to travel more than a few miles and will have to take horse-friendly routes). Make sure to always go through a qualified company and check that they have a weather plan for the carriage if it rains.

Another classic option is to hire a vintage or luxury car. You may also need to hire a chauffeur, or get a family member to drive the vehicle. A Rolls Royce limo could be an excellent option for you and your bridesmaids to travel to the ceremony. Open top cars could be great on a sunny day, although you may want to check that the vehicle is convertible in case of inclement weather.

2. Think Thematic

If you’re having more of a thematic weddings, you may want to consider an alternative mode of transportation ties into the theme. This option is certainly more creative and fun, although expect to pay a little extra and spend more time sourcing the appropriate vehicle.

Maybe a vintage bus is a good fit for your wedding. If the vehicle is large enough to contain you and all your guests, you could make it a fun experience for everyone.

Then again, if you’re planning a rustic barn wedding, you could hire a tractor to take you to the venue. It may not be the most romantic, but it could add extra thrills and is certain to make your wedding stand out. Hiring a tractor may not even be that expensive – you could try talking to farmers in the area to see what they are willing to offer.

As for weddings abroad or weddings themed around other cultures, you could try different transport options from around the world. This could involve a tuk-tuk for an Indian wedding or a London cab for a British-themed wedding.

If you’re having a destination wedding, finding these local transport options isn’t likely to be hard or too pricey, however if you’re getting married in your home country you may have to hunt a little further to find someone who can provide this type of wedding day transportation.

3. Go Wild

For those that want a true adrenalin rush on their special day, there are other wilder options. For example, hiring a helicopter could be one way to arrive at your wedding in style. Of course, this will be very expensive and you’ll have to ensure the venue has space and permission to land a helicopter (you’ll likely have to check with the venue owner and helicopter company as to whether this is feasible).

For a beach wedding, you could arrive via speedboat or jet-ski. Ok, a jet-ski definitely won’t be practical if you’re in a traditional wedding dress, but if you’re not concerned about going down the traditional route this may not be too much of a problem.

4. On The Cheap

If you’re on a tight budget and most of these wedding day transportation options are out of the question, there are still affordable ways to arrive in style. You could arrive in your own vehicle or a friend’s car.

Simply take some steps to make the vehicle more dramatic, like some professional detailing to get it looking clean and shiny and buying some bows and ribbons for it. Of course, you probably don’t want to be driving the vehicle yourself, so make sure you designate a driver for the day, maybe as a parent or the best man.
