Being a maid of honor or a bridesmaid is a privilege, but one that comes with responsibilities – with one of the greatest being planning a bachelorette party. If you’ve never planned one before, it can be daunting, with the pressure on to make sure the bride has a bachelorette party to remember.

Need some help getting started? Take a look at these bachelorette planning basics to ensure your bride has the time of her life.
1. Talk To The Bride
While the bride might want the details of her bachelorette to be secret, there’s no harm in talking to her about what she wants, and more importantly – what she doesn’t. This is a great bachelorette party planning tip that will help you to get an idea of location, preferred activities, etc. so that you’re not completely in the dark, and you know you’re planning a bachelorette party that she will enjoy. You’ll also need to get a guest list from your bride so that you can make sure that all of her nearest and dearest are there (and that you don’t accidently invite someone to the bachelorette party who isn’t invited to the wedding).
2. Nail The Details Early
To help make the planning go smoothly, you need to nail the details down as soon as possible. Give yourself enough time for this. From deciding the date and the location to locking your numbers down, it’s never too early to start planning. Take a look at some bachelorette party ideas and get planning the perfect event for your bride-to-be.
3. Keep Costs Down
Wedding season can be expensive for many, (costs can quickly add up), and the chances are that this won’t be the only wedding and bachelorette party that the guests are going to this year. Work out all of the costs to give to the guests before they decide if they’re in or out, and then set up a payment plan to make sure everything is paid for and that you’re not left out of pocket. Booking a great house, apartment or villa is a fun way to host a bachelorette party, and may help you to save on costs and giving you a great base for many fun activities.
4. Be In Charge
While everyone deserves to have fun at a bachelorette party, as the host, it’s your duty to be in charge and take care of all the details. If there’s a schedule to stick to, make sure you stay on top of it instead of doing too many shots with the bride – it’ll make things less stressful and you can make up for it later in the evening.
It’s up to you to be the enforcer of house or party bus rules, even if you do feel like a party pooper at times. Keep all of the essential details handy such as the booking confirmations and the itinerary to help ensure everything goes to plan.
Nailing the basics is the most important part of planning a bachelorette party. With these things in place, you can then focus on adding in all of the fun elements to help your bride enjoy her “last hoorah as a single woman”. Start brainstorming ideas and making plans to help you throw the best bachelorette party ever.
