Everyone’s wedding is possibly one of the most memorable days of their life. So having a wedding that’s different than anyone else’s can be really important. The great thing about unique wedding ideas is that they don’t have to be bizarre or expensive.
If you’re after some unique wedding ideas (and maybe a little quirky) for your own wedding, here are a few to get those creative cogs turning.
1. Take A Shot, Take A Seat
Doing the seating plan can be one of the most stressful parts of a wedding. However, if you want to throw caution to the wind (and your wedding guests are a boozy lot) you could always do the ‘take a shot, take a seat’ idea. This is where you lay out shots for your guests, which will come with a table and seat number. Once they’ve downed the relevant shot, they’ll take their seats at the allocated table. This is great if you don’t want to worry about seating plans and it’s also a way of getting your wedding guests to chat with one another.
2. Photo Booth Cars & Party Buses
Photo Booths have become immensely popular over the years. It’s something that will keep your guests entertained throughout the night, which is necessary during the reception, especially when you’re off having your own photos taken.
There are now a variety of photobooth options and party buses, from pods to camper vans, you can find something that suits your personality or means something to you. For example, if you live in London, a black cab taxi photo booth would be perfect.
3. CD Wedding Favors
Wedding favors are often one of those elements of wedding planning that are rushed and not given much thought. After all, you have just forked out a lot of money on your guests, so it’s just another expense. If you fancy doing something a little more personal, that won’t cost an arm and a leg then a wedding favor in the form of a CD may be for you. The CD can be filled with songs from your wedding day – from your wedding dance to the music you play in the evening.
Be sure to think about how you’ll give out your favors. Sometimes at the end of the night, guests can forget about collecting their gifts. A couple of ideas are to have someone stationed at the end of the night to give out the favors or to place the favors on the dinner tables during the reception along with the place settings.
4. Interchangeable Bridal Dress
There’s been a shift in wedding dresses over the years where brides have two dresses for the day, one for the ceremony and one for the evening. This can make it more comfortable if the ceremony dress is heavy and you want something lighter for the evening. Interchangeable dresses are now becoming more popular because it combines two dresses into one, making it more affordable and less of a hassle to change during the day.
Bespoke wedding dresses are also an option if you want to design your own gown for the day. This is an outfit you’ll be wearing all day, so it has to be comfortable and fit right for you.
5. Singing Waiters
If you want something completely out of the box, some companies provide your very own singing waiters. Dressed up in disguise, these singers will perform a few numbers after their cover is revealed, normally after falling over or dropping a tray full of drinks to attract the attention of your guests.
This is a really unique feature and can add that break in a wedding reception dinner, perhaps in between speeches because we all know that some can go on for a while…
6. Pimp Your Drinks
And lastly, pimping your drinks has become another popular feature to have at a wedding as it gets the guests involved and keeps them busy. You can do this with cocktails or any drinks you might serve at the bar.
Your wedding day is one that’s very special to both you and your fiancé, so when you incorporate your own unique twist on it; it’ll be one to remember both for you and your guests.
